A quick introduction (~5 minutes) into basic UDP/TCP forwarding of messages with rsyslog. This shows how to extend a standard rsyslog.conf (on Debian 5 in this sample, but applies to all other distros, too) to support forwarding of messages.

I noticed that the 2nd part of my /etc/rsyslog.conf didnt contain the last part that was in the config file showed in this video.
The second part was in /etc/rsyslog.d/50-default.conf, so i had to edit that one and add the rule
*.* @192.168.1.1
